When Life Pauses, the Dream Keeps Growing

...the Dream Keeps Growing

This past week took an unexpected turn, and for the first time since starting this journey, I missed a blog post. At first, I felt a little guilty about it. Consistency means so much to me, especially when it comes to building Sunday Cottage Escape. But sometimes life reminds us that it has its own rhythm.

My work schedule has been full lately — long shifts, one-day weeks off, and the kind of tired that settles into your bones. And tonight, just as I arrived at work, we were sent home because the power had to be shut down for hours. No lights, no computers, no way to keep things going.

So, in the quiet of that unexpected pause, I finally had a moment to breathe… and to write.

And here’s the truth:
Even when life gets busy, even when I’m physically away from my laptop for days at a time, the dream never stops moving inside me.

Every shift, every lunch break, every walk to the time clock — Sunday Cottage Escape is always in my mind. Ideas appear at the most random moments. Tiny improvements, new features, new ways to serve guests, holiday touches, safety plans, layout changes… it’s all there, quietly taking shape.

Working full-time again has actually made my dream stronger.
Because every day in the workforce reminds me of why I’m building
SCE in the first place — not just for myself, but for every person who needs a place where life slows down, and peace becomes possible again.

And with the holidays approaching, I find myself imagining what the season will someday feel like at Sunday Cottage Escape:

✨ A Christmas tree glowing softly in the guest lounge
✨ Another tree in the employee lounge to remind my team they’re valued
✨ Little winter touches tucked into each cottage — gentle, cozy, simple
✨ A warm, welcoming feeling that wraps around every guest who checks in

I can see it in my mind so clearly.
And even though this season of life is busy, I know I'm walking toward it — patiently, intentionally, one step at a time.

Missing a blog post doesn’t mean the dream stopped.
It just means life asked for a moment.
And sometimes, those moments are exactly what we need to reconnect with the “why” behind it all.

Sunday Cottage Escape is still growing.
Still unfolding.
Still becoming.

And I’m still committed — even on the weeks when things don’t go exactly as planned.

Thank you for being here, walking with me through the building stages, the learning curves, the long days, and the unexpected pauses. I’m grateful to share this journey with you… and I can’t wait to show you what comes next.
