Building a Dream While Working a Day Job: Why Sunday Cottage Escape Still Moves Forward
Life has been busy lately. Between long shifts at my new job and the everyday tasks that pile up, it sometimes feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day. And yet, even in the middle of this hectic rhythm, Sunday Cottage Escape hasn’t faded into the background. It never does.
Because the truth is… when a dream is real, it keeps whispering to you.
Every day at work, even while doing my best and staying present, ideas spark in my mind. I jot them down on scraps of paper, in my phone, on breaks, or the moment something pops into my head. A thought about a cottage layout. A new service to add for guests. A feature to improve accessibility. A flower I’d love to plant in the garden. Inspiration doesn’t wait for convenience — it shows up whenever it wants, and I welcome it.
Going back into the workforce has actually fueled me more than I expected. It reminded me of something important:
I’ve spent years helping build other people’s empires. Strong, successful, well-run places — but they weren’t mine.

And now, after 22 years of giving my all to someone else’s vision, I finally understand that I want to build something of my own — not just for myself, but for the people I hope to serve.
Sunday Cottage Escape is not just a business plan in progress. It’s a purpose.
A way to create a peaceful corner of the world that helps others catch their breath, slow down, and feel human again.
Working again has shown me how easily people fall into patterns that drain them.
Clock in, clock out. Repeat.
Rushing through days without a moment of quiet.
Carrying stress home without ever getting a break from it.
I’ve lived that cycle. Many of us have.
And that’s exactly why I want Sunday Cottage Escape to exist.
I want to create a place where someone walking through a season of overwhelm can come and finally exhale.
A place where the world slows down long enough for them to reconnect with who they are — not who they are expected to be for everyone else.
A place filled with flowers, soft mornings, cozy corners, warm light, and quiet moments that remind you what peace feels like.
My day job may take time and energy… but Sunday Cottage Escape gives me direction, hope, and a sense of calling.
So no, my dream isn’t on the back burner.
If anything, working again has made me more determined.
I know what it feels like to give my best to someone else’s mission — now I’m giving that same dedication to my own.

And someday, when guests walk through the gates of Sunday Cottage Escape, breathe in that gentle stillness, and feel life slow down… all of this juggling, all of these late nights, all of these small steps will be worth it.
Because this dream isn’t just for me.
It’s for every person who needs a moment of rest in a world that never stops moving.
