From Dreaming to Building: What I’ve Been Working On Lately

There’s something quiet that happens when a dream begins to take shape.

It doesn’t arrive with noise or big announcements.
It shows up in small decisions… late nights… and pages filled with thoughts that once lived only in your heart.

Lately, I’ve been deep in that space.

Behind the scenes of Sunday Cottage Escape, I’ve been working on something that feels both exciting and overwhelming at times — building the foundation of what this place will truly become.

Not just how it will look…
But how it will feel.
How it will function.
And how it will welcome every guest who steps into it.

Creating Something That Feels Different

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I don’t want this to be.

I don’t want it to feel rushed.
I don’t want it to feel crowded.
And I don’t want it to feel like just another place to stay.

Sunday Cottage Escape is being built with intention, from the layout of the cottages to the quiet corners in the garden.

Every detail matters.

Because when someone chooses to come here, they’re not just booking a stay…
They’re choosing rest.
They’re choosing stillness.
They’re choosing to step away from the noise of everyday life.

The Work Behind the Vision

Lately, my days have been filled with planning.

Not the pretty kind you see on Pinterest — but the real kind.

Spreadsheets.
Budgets.
Layout decisions.
Policies.
Guest experience details.
And questions I never thought I’d be asking.

How many cottages feel right?
How do we create comfort without excess?
What does “peaceful” look like in a real, physical space?

These are the kinds of things I’ve been working through.

Because I want this place to be thoughtful — not just beautiful.

Choosing to Build It the Right Way

One of the biggest decisions I’ve made recently was choosing not to build in phases.

At first, it seemed like the practical choice.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something important…

You can’t create a peaceful escape in the middle of construction.

You can’t offer quiet while there’s noise.
You can’t offer rest while apologizing for the disruption.

And that’s not the experience I want anyone to have here.

So I made the decision to build Sunday Cottage Escape as a complete experience from the very beginning.

It’s a bigger step… but it’s the right one.

Learning as I Go

I’ll be honest — I don’t have all the answers.

There are moments where I feel confident…
And moments where I feel like I’m figuring it out one step at a time.

But I’m learning.

I’m learning how to build something from the ground up.
I’m learning what it really takes to turn a vision into something tangible.
And I’m learning to trust that every small step forward matters.

Why I’m Sharing This

I wanted to share this part of the journey because this is what building something meaningful actually looks like.

It’s not always polished.
It’s not always easy.
But it’s real.

And if you’ve ever had a dream sitting quietly in your heart, I hope this reminds you…

It’s okay to start small.
It’s okay to not have everything figured out.
And it’s okay to build slowly, as long as you build with intention.

A Quiet Thank You

If you’ve been following along, reading, or simply checking in from time to time…

Thank you.

Your support means more than you know.

Sunday Cottage Escape is still in its early stages, but it’s growing — thoughtfully, carefully, and with a whole lot of heart.

And I’m so grateful you’re here for it.
